Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saints Galacteon and His Wife, Episteme.
Saints Galacteon and Episteme were faithful Christians, who had dedicated their lives to the teachings of our Church. When the emperor Decius began the persecution of Christians, Saint Galacteon found refuge on Mount Sinai and Saint Episteme in a convent.
However, the lord Ursos tracked down Saint Galacteon and arrested him for his faith. With this news, Saint Episteme surrendered to be close to her companion and testify together, as she did. After severe torture, in 250 AD they were beheaded by the army of Ursus.

The Icon of Saints Galacteon and His Wife, Episteme, is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
