Handmade Prayer Rope from Mount Athos to accompany your daily prayers.
It is knitted from waxed yellow thread and each knot consists of nine small braided Crosses which symbolize the Nine Orders of Angels. It bears a braided Cross, which is located between two diaphanous beads, and can be worn on the wrist for protection.
Prayer Ropes is a long-standing tradition in the monks' life of Mount Athos and they are used in their continuous prayers to God, asking for blessing and catharsis of the soul.
By holding the Praying Rope and praying at each knot saying: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner" we declare our humility before the Lord while at the same time we call for help Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, the Saints and the Angels who stand for our Salvation.
