Aged-Wooden Byzantine Icon of Saint Prochorus the Apostle and Deacon.
Saint Prochorus the Apostle was one of the Seven Deacons who took care of the community of the poor in Jerusalem and one of the Seventy Disciples chosen by Jesus Christ to preach His teaching.
After the Dormition of the Virgin, the Saint Prochorus the Apostle was exiled to Patmos together with Saint John the Theologian. On his return, he was ordained Bishop of Nicomedia by the Apostle Peter, but he was tortured to death by the pagans.

The aging technique is meticulously applied to the Icon by hand and gives it the look of time while the depiction retains its artistic details.
Around the perimeter, the aging becomes more apparent with frayed edges that give the Icon a distinctive appearance.
During the final processing, the Aged-Wooden Icon of Saint Prochorus the Apostle is polished with a special varnish to withstand time.
