Aged-Wooden Byzantine Icon of Panagia Gregorousa made with devotion and respect by experienced craftsmen of the Christian tradition.
The Icon of Panagia Gregorousa is an exact copy of the icon found in the Pilgrimage Church of Panagia Gregorousa - Panmegiston Taxiarchon, to which it was donated by a family of refugees from Asia Minor in 1945.
Panagia is named Gregorousa as she quickly fulfills the prayers of her faithful.
The aging technique is meticulously applied to the Icon by hand and gives it the look of time while the depiction retains its artistic details.
Around the perimeter, the aging becomes more apparent with frayed edges that give the Icon a distinctive appearance.
During the final processing, the Aged-Wooden Icon of Panagia Gregorousa is polished with a special varnish to withstand time.
Note: The final Icon may slightly differ from the catalog photo.
