Aged-Wooden Byzantine Icon of Saint Cyprian.
Saint Cyprian lived in Antioch and was a pagan. He was known for practicing sorcery and was therefore visited by Aglaidas, a pagan who wanted to gain the attention of the Christian Justa. After Saint Cyprian saw that his tricks did not shake Justa's faith, he was persuaded to be baptized and convert to Christianity.
Initially he was a priest while later, leading a pious life, he was elected Bishop, but during the persecution of Christians he was tortured in Damascus together with Justa, whom he had renamed "Ioustini", and finally both were beheaded in Nicomedia because of their faith.
Apolytikion
As a sharer of the ways and a successor to the throne of the Apostles, O inspired of God, thou foundest discipline to be a means of ascent to divine vision. Wherefore, having rightly divided the word of truth, thou didst also contest for the Faith even unto blood, O Hieromartyr Cyprian. Intercede with Christ our God that our souls be saved.

When thou, O godly-minded one, hadst been converted from magic art to knowledge of God, thou becamest a most skilful healer for the whole world, O wise Cyprian, granting cures to them that honour thee with Justina; with her, pray the man-befriending Master to save us, thy servants who sing thy praise.
The aging technique is meticulously applied to the Icon by hand and gives it the look of time while the depiction retains its artistic details.
Around the perimeter, the aging becomes more apparent with frayed edges that give the Icon a distinctive appearance.
During the final processing, the Aged-Wooden Icon of Saint Cyprian is polished with a special varnish to withstand time.
