Panagia Glykophilousa is a popular miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary of great theological interest. Panagia Dexiokratousa (meaning "holding with the right hand") is a type of Panagia Glykofilousa and differs because she holds young Jesus Christ with her right hand instead of her left, which is usually depicted.
The aging technique is meticulously applied to the Icon by hand and gives it the look of time while the depiction retains its artistic details.
Around the perimeter, the aging becomes more apparent with frayed edges that give the Icon a distinctive appearance.
During the final processing, the Aged-Wooden Icon of Panagia the Glykofilousa Dexiokratousa is polished with a special varnish to withstand time.
