Byzantine Hand Painted Icon of Saint Zoe, the Martyr.
Saint Martyr Zoe, along with her husband Saint Hesperus and their sons Kyriakos and Theodoulos, faced persecution during the second-century reign of Emperor Hadrian. Despite their status as slaves to the Roman Catullus in Asia Minor, the family remained unwavering in their Christian faith.
When Catullus discovered their faith, he ordered the torture of Zoe's sons. Saint Hesperus and Saint Zoe also endured severe torture before all four martyrs were cast into a burning furnace. Miraculously, their bodies remained unharmed.
Hand-Painted Icons occupy a valuable place in ecclesiastical art because, beyond their obvious artistic value, a hand-painted icon unites man with the holiness of the depicted person.
For the Hand-Painted Icon of Saint Zoe, our experienced painters use traditional techniques and high-quality materials that offer excellent depiction and durability over time.
