Byzantine Hand Painted Icon of Saint Sosipater the Apostle.
Our Church celebrates the memory of Saint Sosipater the Apostle together with that of Saint Jason as they marched and preached the Gospel together.
They arrived in Corfu where they erected a Temple in honor of Saint Stefanos and they were fought against for their faith. But, with their steadfast morals and miracles, they turned many to Christianity such as the king's daughter who donated her property to the poor was baptized a Christian.
They suffered horrible tortures from which Saint Jason managed to survive while Saint Sosipatros did not.
In the following years, Saint Jason continued his ecclesiastical work and died peacefully.
