Byzantine Hand Painted Icon of Saint Symeon the God-Receiver.
Saint Symeon the God-Reciever lived in Jerusalem and was a virtuous man. He had received the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and it was revealed to him that he will meet the Messiah before he died.
At the Presentation of Christ in the Temple, Saint Symeon took Jesus Christ in his hands and addressing God said: "Lord, now let Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word, for my eyes have seen Your salvation, a Light to lighten the Gentiles, the Glory of Your people Israel."
Saint Symeon the God-Receiver also informed the Virgin Mary about the sorrow she will experience from the martyrdom of Jesus Christ.
