Saints Menodora, Metrodora and Nymphodora were sisters, known in the Christian community for their piety and faith.
Once, they went to live near the Pythian hot springs of Bithynia to further cultivate their faith and be tested in asceticism. For their virtuous life and their humility, God gave them the gift of healing, which is why many believers traveled there to heal their souls, as well as their bodies.
Their attitude angered the prefect of Frontos, who ordered the arrest of the three sisters and their torture, until their death in 290 AD. When the prefect later tried to burn the tortured bodies, he himself caught fire and was burned to death, while a heavy rain saved the bodies of the three saints.
Then, the local Christians reverently buried the bodies of Saints Menodora, Metrodora and Nymphodora.
