Byzantine Hand Painted Icon of Saint Methodius, Hieromartyr, Bishop of Patara.
Saint Methodius lived in the 6th century AD and stood out for his theological and philosophical education. Realizing his enlightenment, the faithful elected him Bishop of Patara to guide the flock and protect it from the unbelievers.
Saint Methodius' faith remained steadfast throughout the years he fought against heresies, and this angered the Roman emperor of the time, who ordered his beheading. Nevertheless, the pastoral work of Saint Methodius continued to inspire the church community and become a point of reference for future generations.
