Byzantine Hand Painted Icon of Saint Theodosius the Cenoviarch.
Saint Theodosius the Cenoviarch was born in Cappadocia and from a young age he lived according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. He became a monk and was blessed by Saint Symeon the Stylites, who predicted the great monastic life that Saint Theodosios would create.
Over the years, Saint Theodosius became known in the Christian community and many believers visited him to receive his blessing. For this reason the Saint made sure to expand his ascetic cell, creating a large monastery that could accommodate many monks.
He passed away peacefully in old age.
