Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Susanne, the Myrrh Bearer.
Saint Susanne was one of the seven Myrrh Bearer women who followed Jesus Christ in his sermons an anointed his body with myrrh after his death.
Our Church honors the memory of the Myrrh Bearing Women on the second or third Sunday following Pascha, which is called the Sunday of the Myrrh Bearers.
Kontakion for the Sunday of the Myrrhbearers
When You did cry, Rejoice, unto the Myrrh-bearers, You did make the lamentation of Eve the first mother to cease by Your Resurrection, O Christ God. And You did bid Your Apostles to preach: The Savior is risen from the grave.
The Icon of Saint Susanne is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the Icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
