Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Symeon the God-Receiver.
Saint Symeon the God-Reciever lived in Jerusalem and was a virtuous man. He had received the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and it was revealed to him that he will meet the Messiah before he died.
At the Presentation of Christ in the Temple, Saint Symeon took Jesus Christ in his hands and addressing God said: "Lord, now let Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word, for my eyes have seen Your salvation, a Light to lighten the Gentiles, the Glory of Your people Israel."
Saint Symeon the God-Receiver also informed the Virgin Mary about the sorrow she will experience from the martyrdom of Jesus Christ.
Hail Virgin Theotokos full of Grace, for Christ our God, the Sun of Righteousness, has dawned from you, granting light to those in darkness. And you, O Righteous Elder, rejoice, taking in your arms, the Deliverance of our souls, who grants us Resurrection.
The Icon of Saint Symeon the God-Receiver is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the Ιcon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
