Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Spyridon, Bishop of Tremithon.
Saint Spyridon was born in 270 AD in Cyprus and was a shepherd as the rest of his family. He was a peaceful and prudent man, who followed the teaching of Jesus Christ, and became even more devoted to it after the death of his wife.
He was ordained a Priest and because of his devotion to God, he was elected Bishop of Tremithon. According to tradition, he has performed miracles many times.
Apolytikion
O Father, God-bearer, Spyridon, you were proven a champion and Wonder Worker of the First Ecumenical Council. You spoke to the girl in the grave and turned the serpent to gold. And, when chanting your prayers, most sacred One, angels ministered with you. Glory to Him who glorified you; glory to Him who crowned you; glory to Him who, through you, works healing for all.
The Icon of Saint Spyridon is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the Icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
