Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Prochorus the Apostle and Deacon.
Saint Prochorus the Apostle was one of the Seven Deacons who took care of the community of the poor in Jerusalem and one of the Seventy Disciples chosen by Jesus Christ to preach His teaching.
After the Dormition of the Virgin, the Saint Prochorus the Apostle was exiled to Patmos together with Saint John the Theologian. On his return, he was ordained Bishop of Nicomedia by the Apostle Peter, but he was tortured to death by the pagans.
Holy apostle Prochorus of the Seventy; entreat the merciful; to grant our souls forgiveness of transgressions.
The Icon of Saint Prochorus the Apostle is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
