Mark the Apostle and Evangelist studied alongside the Apostle Paul and the Apostle Peter, taking part in their tours. He preached the Gospel in Egypt and Libya and wrote the "Gospel of Mark", which includes many events from the life of Jesus Christ, his miracles and his teachings.
There is no official record of his death as according to one view he died peacefully while another states that he was stoned to death by pagans.
