Byzantine Hand Painted Icon of Saint Lazarus Raising.
When Lazarus became seriously ill, his sisters notified his friend Jesus Christ, but he did not immediately go to Bethany to meet him. Instead, two days later, when Lazarus was already dead, Jesus traveled with his disciples to his tomb to raise him.
When he arrived, he met Mary and Martha, the sisters of Lazarus, and in front of them and his disciples he announced: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die".
Then, addressing Lazarus, he commanded: "Lazarus come out" and then the miracle happened. Lazarus came out of his tomb alive.
