Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Nikodemus of Mount Athos, Spiritual Writer.
Saint Nikodemus of Mount Athos was born in Naxos in 1749 and grew up with a Christian education. He studied with Archimandrite Chrysanthos and was further educated at the Greek School of Smyrna.
In 1775, he went to Dionysiou Monastery, on Mount Athos, where he became a monk and then he served as reader and secretary of the Monastery. During his monastic years he wrote many books, which have survived to this day and are important theological work.
He died in 1809 and was canonized by the Ecumenical Patriarchate in 1955.

The Icon of Saint Nikodemus of Mount Athos is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
