Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Nicetas, the Great Martyr.
Saint Nicetas lived during the years of Constantine the Great and was taught the Word of God by Bishop Theophilos of Gothia.
The Ruler Athanaricus arrested him for his faith and demanded from Saint Nicetas to deny Christianity, but he refused. The wrath of Athanaricus led Saint Nicetas to cruel torture until he was thrown into the pyre and burned in 372 AD.
His remains were left intact and saved by a pious Christian.
Apolytikion
Thy Martyr, O Lord, in his courageous contest for Thee received as the prize the crowns of incorruption and life from Thee, our immortal God. For since he possessed Thy strength, he cast down the tyrants and wholly destroyed the demons' strengthless presumption. O Christ God, by his prayers, save our souls, since Thou art merciful.
The Ιcon of Saint Nicetas is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
