Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint John the Kalabytes (Hut-Dweller).
Saint John the Kalabytes lived in Constantinople and was the son of Eutropius and Theodora. His faith prompted him to refuse the wealth of his family and to follow a monastic life in the monastery of Akoimitoi ("Unsleeping").
When, years later, he learned of his father's immoral life and his mother's disappointment, he returned to his paternal home as a monk, without revealing his identity. His parents were very moved by the stranger's words, and for this reason they built him a small hut near their house.
From this short distance, Saint John the Kalabytes (meaning the "Hut-Dweller") shaped the life of his parents and when he finally revealed his name to them, he passed away peacefully.

The Icon of Saint John the Kalabytes is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
