Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Hermolaus.
Saint Hermolaus acted together with Hermippus and Hermocrates in the outskirts of Nicomedia during the years of the emperor Diocletian. He passed on the medical knowledge he possessed to a young student of his, Pantoleon, who later baptized him and named him Panteleimon.
The ruler of Nicomedia, enraged by the preaching of Saint Hermolaus in favor of Christianity, ordered his arrest, and then, his beheading. Hermippus and Hermocrates were beheaded at his side.
Troparion
O God of our Fathers, / always act with kindness towards us; / take not Your mercy from us, / but guide our lives in peace / through the prayers of the hierarchs Hermolaus, Hermippus, and Hermocrates.
The Icon of Saint Hermolaus is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
