Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Gregory the Sinaite.
Saint Gregory the Sinaite was born in 1255 AD in Asia Minor into a Christian family and from a young age he followed the solitary life.
During his travels he worshiped the Holy Sepulcher and visited the monasteries of Mount Athos and Constantinople. He devoted his life to teaching Hesychasm in the Balkans, and especially to the Slavs and Bulgarians.
He died in 1347 AD.
The Icon of Saint Gregory the Sinaite is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
