Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Glyceria, Vigrin-Martyr at Heraclea.
Saint Glyceria was born in the 2nd century AD in Traianoupolis and from a young age she expressed her love for Christianity.
When the ruler Sabinus learned about the faith of Saint Glyceria, he invited her to renounce her faith, but she refused. For this reason she was stoned outside the Temple, in which she was subjected to sacrifice to idols. Despite this, no stone hurt the Saint, which prompted many to believe in the power of Jesus Christ.
Determined to exterminate her, Sabinus locked her in an arena with beasts, which at first did not rush at her, but eventually, one of them mortally wounded her.

Your lamb Glyceria, calls out to You, O Jesus, in a loud voice: / “I love You, my Bridegroom, and in seeking You I endure suffering. / In baptism I was crucified so that I might reign in You, / and I died so that I might live with You. / Accept me as a pure sacrifice, / for I have offered myself in love.” / Through her prayers save our souls, since You are merciful.
The Icon of Saint Glyceria is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
