Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Antipas, Bishop of Pergamus.
Saint Antipas practiced medicine during the years of Domitian and was taught Christianity by the Holy Apostles.
As Bishop of Pergamus, Saint Antipas was persecuted by the pagans as they claimed that he allowed demons to inhabit the wider area. When the Saint refused to deny his faith, they threw him into an incandescent effigy of a bull. With this method of execution, the Saint martyred in AD 92.

The celebrated hierarch and Pegamum's first prelate, the fellow-contestant of Martyrs and most divine myrrh-streamer, ye faithful, come let us honour now wise Antipas, who truly is a great and swift healer of severely afflicted teeth, and cry to him with our whole soul: Glory to Christ that hath glorified thee. Glory to Him that hath crowned thee. Glory to Him that worketh healings for all through thee.

The Icon of Saint Antipas is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
