Saint Meletios of Mount Citheron was born in Cappadocia in 1035 AD to pious parents, who raised him with Christian principles. He began his monastic life in Constantinople and then traveled to Thebes, where he became a monk at the Monastery of Saint George.
Over the years, hes went in mount Citheron, where he built the Monastery of Saint Meletios and devoted himself to fasting and prayer.
He passed away peacefully at an old age and his holy skull is kept in the Monastery.

The Icon of Saint Meletios of Mount Citheron is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
