Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Agni.
Saint Agni was born in the 3rd century AD in Rome. She followed a Christian life, just like her parents, and she did not hesitate to defend her faith. Thus, when she was denounced by the local diocese as a Christian, Saint Agni was not shaken.
On the contrary, she endured the tortures imposed on her and was saved from most of them with the help of God. Finally, they threw her into the fire to destroy her.
Saint Agni was buried by her parents just outside of Rome and, according to tradition, many miracles took place at her tomb.
Troparion of Saint Agni
Your lamb Agnes, / calls out to You, O Jesus, in a loud voice: / “I love You, my Bridegroom, / and in seeking You, I endure suffering. / In baptism I was crucified so that I might reign in You, / and I died so that I might live with You. / Accept me as a pure sacrifice, / for I have offered myself in love.” / Through her prayers save our souls, since You are merciful.
The Icon of Saint Agni is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
