Handmade Byzantine Icon of Panagia the Saviour of the World.
The fresco of Panagia "The Saviour of the World" is located in the monastery located in the current city of Fera, in the prefecture of Evros, which was founded in 1125 by the emperor Isaac Komnenos.
The monastery was converted into a mosque around the 14th century, and from 1940, after renovation work, it began to function again as a Christian church. Inside there are many frescoes of great theological interest.
More famous, however, is Panagia "The Saviour of the World", who is said to point with her hand to the spot where Isaac Komnenos is buried.
The Icon of Panagia "The Saviour of the World" is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
