The miraculous Icon of Panagia in Lament is located in Nea Olynthos, Halkidiki, where Panagia performed a miracle and saved a chid from cancer. The faithful father of the child, promised the Virgin Mary that he would build a Church in her honor, but he did not know to which icon of hers to dedicate the Church.
Panagia listened to his question and appeared in a vision, ordering him to visit father Joasaph on Mount Athos and tell him to paint an icon of Panagia In Lament, an icon that did not exist until then.
The humble Christian told his story to Father Joasaph and he painted the picture with instructions given to him by the Virgin Mary in his sleep.

The Icon of Panagia in Lament is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
