Handmade Byzantine Icon of Panagia the Golden Spring.
The miraculous Icon of Panagia "The Golden Spring" is located in the 17th century Church of the same name in Sifnos, which originally functioned as a monastery.
According to tradition, at the time when nuns lived in the monastery, there was a raid by pirates. They all managed to escape except for one nun, who stayed behind and asked for the help of Panagia "The Golden Spring". Panagia heard the nun's prayer and created a rift, which cut off the cape from the land, causing the pirates to fall into the sea.
The Icon of Panagia "The Golden Spring" continued to work miracles in the following years and in 1964, Panagia "The Golden Spring" became the patron saint of the island.
The Icon of Panagia "The Golden Spring" is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
