Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint John the Merciful, Patriarch of Alexandria.
Saint John the Merciful was born in Cyprus during the reign of Heraclius. He grew up with a Christian education, which he passed on to his own descendants.
However, his family quickly passed away, leaving him alone and with a large fortune, which he constantly offer to those in need. His great charity led him to become Patriarch of Alexandria. From this position he was able to help his community even more.
He passed away peacefully in 620 AD.

The Icon of Saint John the Merciful is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
