Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Theodore of Kythera.
Saint Theodore was born in Koroni, Peloponnese, to pious parents, who brought him close to God. A few years after their death, Saint Theodoros had a family and was ordained a deacon.
After a pilgrimage he made to Rome, Saint Theodore made the decision to follow a monastic life, first in Monemvasia and then in Kythera, which at that time was uninhabited.
There, he practiced in the Christian Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus until his peaceful death in 922 AD.
