Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Athanasius the Great.
Saint Athanasius the Great was born in 295 AD in Alexandria and from a young age he developed his theological gifts and at the age of 25 he was ordained a deacon in Nicaea, Bithynia.
His charitable activity was great and he vigorously opposed the persecution of Christians. He left a great written work and his teaching became known throughout the world.
In 328 AD he was elected Patriarch of Alexandria and in 373 AD he died.
The Holy Relics of Saint Athanasius are kept in some Monasteries of Mount Athos and in other Monasteries of Greece.

The Icon of Saint Athanasius the Great is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
