Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Patapios.
Saint Patapios was born in Egypt and from a young age devoted himself to Christian work. After distributing his wealth to the poor, he retired to the desert and then, he went to Constantinople to continue his ascetic life at the Monastery of Blachernae.
His teachings became known, as well as his miracles, which is why many believers visited him to receive his blessing.
Saint Patapios passed away peacefully at an old age, and in 1934 the women's Monastery of Saint Patapios was built in his honor in the Geraneia Mountains.
Apolytikion of Saint Patapios
The image of God, was faithfully preserved in you, O Father. For you took up the Cross and followed Christ. By Your actions you taught us to look beyond the flesh for it passes, rather to be concerned about the soul which is immortal. Wherefore, O Holy Patapius, your soul rejoices with the angels.
The Icon of Saint Patapios is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
