Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Joachim the Forefather.
Saint Joachim was the father of the Virgin Mary and the forefather of Christ. He was from the tribe of Judah and married Anna, who was from the tribe of Levi and Mary. Together they lived a humble life and were blessed with giving birth to the Virgin Mary.
It is said that Saint Joachim died eight years after the Entry of Theotokos Into the Temple, in old age.
Apolytikion of the Holy Ancestors of God
As we celebrate the memory of Thy righteous ancestors, O Lord, through them we beseech Thee to save our souls.
The Icon of Saint Joachim the Forefather is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
