Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Achillios.
Saint Achillios came from Cappadocia and at a young age he found himself in the Holy Land, and then in Rome, where he preached the Gospel. He was a philanthropist and helped the underprivileged with every power he had, which led to his election as Bishop of Larissa.
At the First Ecumenical Council he was met by Constantine the Great, who recognized his virtues and his work, and offered him a large sum of money as a donation, with which Saint Achillios financed welfare projects in Larissa.
He passed away peacefully and his holy relic is kept in the Holy Church built in his honor in Larissa, as he is also the patron Saint of the city.
