Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Anastasios of Persia.
Saint Anastasios of Persia was born in the region of Rasnuni with the name Magundat. After many miracles performed by the Holy Cross, Magundat converted to Christianity and was baptized in Jerusalem, by taking the name Anastasios.
During his visit to Caesarea, the commander Marzavanas ordered the torture and beheading of Saint Anastasios, because he remained faithful to Christianity and did not deny Jesus Christ.
Apolytikion of Saint Anastasios of Persia
Thy Martyr, O Lord, in his courageous contest for Thee received as the prize the crowns of incorruption and life from Thee, our immortal God. For since he possessed Thy strength, he cast down the tyrants and wholly destroyed the demons' strengthless presumption. O Christ God, by his prayers, save our souls, since Thou art merciful.
The Icon of Saint Anastasios of Persia is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
