Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Augustine.
Saint Augustine was born in today's Algeria to a pagan father and a Christian mother. He received a rich education in his place of origin but also in Carthage, where he had an illegitimate son.
When he found himself in Milan, he began to study the Scriptures and attended the sermons of Bishop Ambrosios, as a result of which he and his son, Adeodatus, were baptized Christians.
After many years, on a trip to Hippo, the local Bishop Valerius singled him out for his virtues and knowledge, and ordained him a bishop. During his brilliant career he left a great theological work.
He passed away peacefully at the age of 76.

"O blessed Augustine, you have been proved to be a bright vessel of the divine Spirit and revealer of the city of God; you have also righteously served the Saviour as a wise hierarch who has received God. O righteous father, pray to Christ God that he may grant to us great mercy."
The Icon of Saint Augustine is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
