Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Chrysostom of Smyrne.
Saint Chrysostom was born in 1867 in Bithynia and from a young age expressed his love for Christianity and the desire to become a clergyman. He studied at the Theological School of Chalkis and was ordained a deacon in the Diocese of Mytilene.
He had a brilliant career and a few years later he was Metropolitan of Drama and then, in 1910, he was appointed Metropolitan of Smyrna.
During the destruction of Smyrna in 1922, he was given safe escape, but Saint Chrysostom refused to abandon his flock. Finally, he suffered a martyr's death in August of the same year.

The Icon of Saint Chrysostom of Smyrne is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
