Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Constantine.
Saint Constantine was a Roman Emperor and an "isapostolos" (meaning "an equal to the Apostles"), son of Emperor Flavius Valerius Constantius and Saint Helen, who ruled from 306 to 337 AD. With his reforms, he strengthened Christianity and abolished persecutions from the empire.
In 337 AD after a serious illness, Constantine traveled to Bithynia for hot baths. While praying in the Church of Lucian the Apostle he felt his death.
He died later the same year and was buried in the Church of the Holy Apostles in Constantinople.
