Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Hieronymus.
Saint Hieronymus was born in Stridona, Dalmatia, from a wealthy family. He was brought up with Christian beliefs and received a philological, philosophical and theological education. He was baptized a Christian and for about twenty years he visited large monastic centers.
He connected spiritually with Christian women and through his acquaintances he tried to strengthen the ascetic ideal. The reactions he received from these relationships forced him to flee to Palestine with some of his female students and in 336 AD he settled in Bethlehem, in a monastery founded by his follower Paula.
Saint Hieronymus maintained a friendly relationship with Saint Gregory the Theologian, whom he admired for his knowledge, and was known for his great writing work.
He died peacefully in 420 AD. in Bethlehem.

The Icon of Saint Hieronymus is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
