Handmade Byzantine Icon of Andrew the Apostle.
Apostle Andrew was one of the Twelve Apostles and brother of the Apostle Peter. The Scriptures state that Saint Andreas was the first to be called by Jesus Christ to become an Apostle, which is why he has remained known as "Protokletos" meaning “The First-Called".
Together with the rest of the disciples, he taught the Word of God and faithfully followed Jesus Christ until his Crucifixion.
Apostle Andrew is the patron saint of Patras, as he was martyred there, and most of his relics are in the city's Holy Temple of Saint Andrew.

As first of the Apostles to be called, O Andrew, brother of him (Peter) who was foremost, beseech the Master of all to grant the world peace and our souls great mercy.

Let us praise the namesake of bravery, the divinely eloquent and first to be called of the Disciples of Christ, the kinsman of Peter. As he called out to him in days of old, so now he calls to us, "Come, we have found Him for whom we yearned."
The Icon of Andrew the Apostle is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.
During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.
It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
