The Bishop Crosiers originated with the abbots of monasteries in the East, who had under their administration large solitary communities and held a rod as support during long sequences. Over the centuries, the Despotic Rod has become a symbol of their administrative and pastoral power.
Originally, these rods were made of plain wood, but eventually, valuable materials were used.
Today, the Bishop Crosiers are made of metal, with their ends turned upwards and ending in twin snakes.
Our collection includes unique designs of Bishop Crosiers that are gilded and specially processed to ensure they do not lose their shine.

Mr. Arsanius
"...I would like to let you know that I have received the icons today. Very few words can describe my awe at these venerable creations. I don't feel that my home deserves them and that they will find a better place in church. However I cannot think of any better legacy that I would one day leave to my family. Many thanks to you and, your Iconographers and crafts men who worked so hard to make them. May the Lord bless your lives...."
