Aplices are metal lamps that are placed on both interior and exterior walls. The first silver aplices appeared in the 17th century, while porcelain and pseudo-gold have been used since the 18th century. In their early days, they held candles or torches and their light was intensified by a reflecting back surface.
Aplices are widely used by the Orthodox Church for the decoration and lighting of the interior of the Holy Temples.
Our catalog includes aplices made of brass and aluminum with one or more lights. They are gilded and made with Christian symbols such as the Cross and the double-headed eagle or with images of Saints.

"...We received our orders. Everything is very nice and well. We will certainly keep OramaWorld in mind when we want to order liturgical items in the future. It is wonderful they arrived just in time for Lent. Kalli Sarrakosti!..."
