Icon sculpture is an art form that has experienced a renaissance in Orthodoxy around the world. In the last 15 years, we have seen a number of incredible image sculptures appear. Reliefs were originally the art of choice for exquisite handicrafts, such as book covers, chest crosses, procession and altar crosses, sarcophagi and relics due to their unique tactile and lasting properties.

The carving of the images requires great skill and their artistic value remains unchanged over time as it retains its physical and special visual language.
