The main characteristic elements of Crete's woman costume are the traditionally decorated apron and the red halfskirt. The costume consists of the white cotton ''vraka'' (salvari), the white cotton dress, the black velvet gold decorated jacket, the white head kerchief, the red halfskirt and the typical apron from Crete.
