| Description: | "To Hamogelo tou Pediou" Society or "The Smile of the Child" in English, is an Non Governmental Organisation that runs a number of shelters accommodating children of all ages. It was created by Mr.Yannopoulos in 1995, in memory of his ten-year-old son, who died tragically that same year. In addition to the shelters, which are staffed by psychologists, teachers as well as social workers, the organisation has mobile units which go among children living or working on the street, provides ambulances for neo-natal intensive care cases and raises money for seriously ill children to be treated abroad.
